Process shots from some early models
August 19th, 2008An old relic from one of my first SU models. I actually kinda like how the design came out but I scraped it because it was impractical. But who cares about practicality. Really.
gotta ride like the wind to be free again

I realized I haven’t made a post about this yet so here goes… Part 3 of my vehicle concepting series is out on dvd.massiveblack.com . I think it’s actually the best out of the set, but please don’t let me encourage you not to catch ‘em all
In the third part I go over fleshing out the model in sketchup and making a detailed orthographic view using sketchup and Photoshop. I’m working on the fourth and final part right now which will be about making an illustration using renders of the SU model and Photoshop. My hope is like Micheal Krasny’s: That you find it informative and engaging.
Here’s another sci-fi tank design I’ve been playing around with. I sketched a few thumbnails out in PS and blocked it in with Sketchup on sunday afternoon. There’s still lots more to do, I’ve still gotta add hatches, and lights, and storage bins, and a million other things. I might try and work out some of that stuff in a paintover, it’s nice having the block model to setup the perspective
I’ll post the progress soon so stay tuned for tanksandtanksandtanksand…
Freedom isn’t free, it takes folks like you and me.
A work in progress for some sci-fi pilot dudes I’m working on along with a digi sketch of a lady and the tuesday portrait class. Happy america day internet people.
